Lina Abdulkarm: Lina Abdulkarm is a Palestinian-American children's book author. She was born in Jerusalem and grew up in the United States. She will present her new book “It Could Have Been Me” at Café Palestine. The children's book tells the story of Yasmeen and Sumoud, two Palestinian girls whose paths have been separated by fate. The story deals with themes such as empathy, identity and resilience and brings readers closer to Palestinian life.
Jeff Halper: Jeff Halper is an Israeli anthropologist, head of the Israeli Committee Against House Demolitions (ICAHD) and a founding member of the Palestinian-led One Democratic State Campaign.
The expulsion of the Palestinian people from Gaza, the Israeli military's cruel campaign to pacify refugee camps in the West Bank, the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians in Area C, most of the West Bank - all these actions, horrific as they may be, are part of a larger plan to eradicate the Palestinian struggle through the normalization of the Israeli apartheid regime. The completion of the Abraham Accords between Israel and the Arab governments of the region, now being pushed by Trump and Netanyahu, poses the greatest threat to the Palestinian people since the Nakba of 1948. In this way, settler colonialism triumphs by being normalized.
